RNSBAA BASKETBALL LEAGUE

WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT.

1. PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY

I am at least 18 years old and voluntarily choose to participate in the Redding National Street Ball Association Alliance / RNSBAA basketball league, including games, practices, evaluations, playoffs, All-Star activities, warmups, travel connected with league activities, and my presence at any facility used by the league (collectively, the “Activity”). I understand that participation is optional. I confirm that I am physically and medically able to participate and will stop participating and notify league staff if I experience pain, dizziness, illness, concussion symptoms, or any other condition that may make participation unsafe.

2. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that basketball and use of athletic facilities involve inherent and other risks, both known and unknown. These risks include, without limitation: collisions or contact with players, officials, spectators, walls, bleachers, goals, equipment, or other objects; falls; slips or uneven, wet, or defective surfaces; overexertion; dehydration; illness; equipment failure; negligent acts or omissions of other participants; and travel to or from the Activity. Possible outcomes include sprains, strains, fractures, dental or eye injuries, head injuries and concussion, illness, permanent disability, paralysis, property damage, and death.

I knowingly and voluntarily accept and assume all risks arising from or related to my participation in the Activity, including risks caused by my own actions, the actions of other participants or third parties, conditions at Meadow Lane Elementary School or any other Activity location, and, to the fullest extent permitted by California law, the ordinary negligence of any Released Party identified below.

3. RELEASE AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, I, for myself and for my heirs, estate, personal representatives, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns, RELEASE, WAIVE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE Joshua Dendy; Redding National Street Ball Association Alliance; RNSBAA; RDD Hoops; Cascade Union Elementary School District; Meadow Lane Elementary School, located at 2770 Balls Ferry Road, Anderson, California 96007; any other school, district, property owner, or facility used for the Activity; and each of their respective officers, board members, employees, contractors, coaches, referees, volunteers, agents, representatives, affiliates, insurers, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses arising out of or related to my participation in or presence at the Activity, including claims for personal injury, illness, death, property damage, theft, or loss, WHETHER CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF A RELEASED PARTY OR OTHERWISE, except to the extent a claim cannot lawfully be released.

This agreement does not release liability that California law does not permit to be released, including liability for gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, fraud, or other nonwaivable conduct.

4. PERSONAL PROPERTY

I understand that the Released Parties do not provide security for personal property and are not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged items, including phones, wallets, jewelry, clothing, vehicles, or athletic equipment, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be waived. I accept responsibility for securing my belongings and bringing only items I am willing to risk losing or damaging.

5. EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

If I become ill or injured and cannot provide instructions, I authorize league staff, volunteers, facility personnel, and emergency responders to provide or arrange reasonable first aid, CPR, AED use, emergency transportation, and other emergency treatment deemed reasonably necessary. I understand that no Released Party promises that medical personnel or equipment will be available. I accept financial responsibility for medical care and transportation and understand that I should maintain my own health insurance.

6. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT AND DAMAGE

I agree to follow league rules, facility rules, officials’ directions, and the code of conduct. I will not participate while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, or any condition that creates an unreasonable danger. I accept financial responsibility for damage to facilities, equipment, or property caused by my intentional, reckless, or negligent conduct. I agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from third-party claims, losses, or expenses arising from my intentional, reckless, or negligent conduct, to the extent permitted by law.

7. NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR SPECTATORS OR GUESTS

I am responsible for the conduct of any guest or spectator I bring. I understand that spectators and guests attend at their own risk and must follow all league and facility rules.

8. CALIFORNIA LAW; SEVERABILITY; ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This agreement is governed by California law. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. This agreement contains the complete understanding concerning the matters addressed here and may not be modified orally.

9. DURATION

This agreement applies to the 2026 Fall Season and to every related event, evaluation, practice, game, playoff, All-Star activity, and use of an Activity facility during that season.

10. ELECTRONIC ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By selecting the required acknowledgment checkbox on the standalone waiver form and submitting my name and email, or during online registration and completing payment, I confirm that I am the registered participant, am at least 18 years old, have had the opportunity to read this entire agreement, understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights—including the right to sue for claims covered by this release—and voluntarily agree to all of its terms. My electronic acknowledgment is intended to have the same force and effect as my handwritten signature.
